Iranti wishes to convey our excitement at the two new appointments to the staff of the International Trans* Fund (ITF).
We congratulate Broden Giambrone, who led the Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI) for six years; and Kim Mukasa, co-founder of Trans Network Uganda, on their appointment to the ITF team, as inaugural staff members.
We are particularly pleased at the appointment of an African to such a prominent position within the ITF, as many grassroots trans-positive organisations in Africa face severe underfunding or legal and societal persecution. It is our hope that Mukasa’s work in Uganda will bring a fresh perspective to the ITF on how to cater to the needs of some of the world’s most marginalised transgender persons.
The International Trans* Fund was created in order to facilitate sustainable funding for various trans-rights movements across the world. The hiring of two dedicated and experienced personnel to the ITF gives us confidence that the organisation will continue to grow in size and influence, and play a key role in our global movement for equality.
